Quattro, Willmott Dixon and Housing 21 have won the competition to provide a dementia care scheme for Wokingham Borough Council. The scheme provides two dementia clusters of 18 one bedroom flats and a further cluster of 18 one bedroom flats for adults with learning difficulties. There are shared home "hubs" with cooking, dining, living and activity spaces that provide a domestic heart within each cluster. This is a relatively new model of care for this country, departing as it does from the usual en-suite bedrooms typical of most dementia units.
