Quattro’s adaptation of this Grade II* listed building has marked a return of this pair of Georgian houses into residential use, in the form of 15 flats. A comprehensive survey of the history of the building fabric and the existing features was used to inform the alterations and work was progressed in close consultation with the client, English Heritage and the Listed Buildings Officer. A sensitive extension to the south side of the building made the most of the available space on the site. An original vaulted ceiling was discovered during survey work, which had remained concealed for over eighty years; this was restored, together with the balconies and stonework, reinforcing the buildings impressive presence on the street.
