REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION OF YATE LIBRARY

Yate Library was built in the 1970's as part of the town centre development. Since that time there has been a transformation in library services and a growth in Yate's population so the ethos and culture of library use has changed. South Gloucestershire Council were successful in obtaining Big Lottery funding for extending and refurbishing the library to provide exhibition and community facilities and meet the needs of the 21st century library user.

Quattro transformed the interior into delightful, flexible and functional spaces. The specialist furniture fit out, lighting, heating and finishes were all carefully integrated to produce a colourful cohesive whole. The exterior was also transformed by a main entrance and rear extension, new glazed opening and coloured render walls.

The building was opened on 19th October 2009 to public acclaim and the satisfaction of the client.

Client: South Gloucestershire Council
Contract sum: £1 million
