The new £3.5 million Science and Arts building at QEH School was officially opened by the distinguished Ecologist and TV personality, Monty Halls, on 21st October.
The development sees the delivery of three state-of-the-art laboratories and a seminar room, as well as an inspiring new Ceramics Centre complete with a teaching balcony overlooking the city of Bristol. Work began in Spring 2015 and was completed this summer, ready for the start of the 2016/17 academic year, and has been very well received by students, staff and visitors.

"This is a fantastic new facility, which I am sure will inspire students for years to come" - Monty Halls

The building has been clad in copper, which will weather beautifully and solar panels have been installed to reduce the environmental impact. It also boasts a ‘natural roof’ to change with the seasons and the grounds are landscaped to showcase some of Britain’s native shrubs and trees.

"I am delighted that this year we have been able to celebrate the opening of our inspirational new Science and Art building. This will enable us to continue meeting the needs of an ever changing curriculum and provide our pupils with the outstanding facilities for which we are so well known.” - Stephen Holliday, Headmaster
