It’s National Work Life Week
Quattro, as an employee-owned Architectural Consultancy has, since inception in 1984, offered flexible-working, allowing employees to fit their working day around our core hours of 10am to 4pm. We understand how important it is to strike a healthy and happy balance between work and home commitments.
Following successfully working from home during the nationwide lockdowns, Quattro is also now embracing the home/ office split to contribute to a happy work/ life balance, and in turn, encourage employee wellbeing.
Our wellbeing initiatives during these Covid challenging times have included highlighting the positive impact nature has on wellbeing, inspiring staff to connect with nature through cycling and other outdoor activities. We also offer an employee assistance programme providing help during tough times in financial, mental and physical wellbeing.

The daily commute…
Flexible study support…
“I joined Quattro in March 2013 as an experienced part 2 wanting to get established and get my Part 3 under my belt. However, after moving to a new house with 2 young kids, I didn’t want to topple my work/ life balance. Quattro understood this and have given me the freedom to achieve my goals in a way that works for both me and my family.
Mike, one of our four Directors and Head of Education Architecture, went the extra mile to make sure I signed up for the right course at the right place. Mike told me about flexible courses – without timeline constraints – he told me about a course at UWE – it was perfect for me.
Funding for fees is pretty standard now, but over and above this I had 5 paid study days. I started my Part 3 in 2016 – it’s taken a while and it wouldn’t suit everybody, but it was great for me. I’ve had time with my family, decorated our new house and completed my Part 3 as well as becoming a Passivhaus accredited designer. I even had 6 months paternity leave in the middle of this.
Flexible culture…
“Quattro’s flexi-time approach allows me to support my husband during busy times on the farm. I am very aware of the positive impact of nature on my wellbeing. During lambing, sometimes I get up in the middle of the night to give David a break and I can honestly say that once I am dressed and out in the night air, I feel so alive! Whether it’s a particularly bright sky or moon – or just hearing the first bleat of a new born lamb – I feel so invigorated. It never ceases to surprise me how magical these moments can be.”
Those little extras that enrich employee wellbeing…
