Challenge
As Architects specialising in Healthcare, Quattro was appointed to design the new build state-of-the-art Doctor’s Practice which needed to provide staff with 2.5 times more space than the existing practice and therefore, stop staff having to ‘hot desk’ while coping with increased patient demand.
Part of wider improvements that were planned for the redevelopment of central Taunton, the new build is one of 20 surgeries which received a £40 million investment for their demolition and rebuild.

Solution
The new surgery, as required by the brief, successfully offers a wider range of available services and is designed to prevent people from getting ill in the first place.
The modern facilities match the high standard of care being provided by the surgery and are no longer cramped with twice the floor space for patients.
Quattro undertook extensive consultation with the doctors and their staff to ensure an efficient and welcoming layout was created for all users. Consultation was also undertaken with local community stakeholders and the local planners to ensure the facility was fully integrated into the neighbourhood. The construction stage was also carefully managed to reduce impact on neighbours.
Our architects really listened to the outcomes that were important to us as a friendly and welcoming dental practice and managed to surpass them for both us and our patients.
