Stirling Gold Award for Quattro’s Dementia Care Home Design – Amber Wood
It’s Dementia Action Week and the timely publication of ‘Architecture for Dementia Stirling Gold 2008-2020’; by the internationally renowned Dementia Services Development Centre, marks a celebration of improving the lives of those with dementia through design.
Here at Quattro, we are celebrating the outstanding success of our latest dementia centre of excellence, Amber Wood in Burton on Trent, which has achieved the ‘Stirling Gold Award’. Showcased within this publication, as an exemplar project on an international level, Accord’s Amber Wood is a unique luxury residential development catering for differing levels of dementia and associated mental health conditions.
Quattro’s inspirational design solution enabled the proposals to be repeated around a main central ‘hub’ but retain flexibility. Each resident’s household has been individually decorated to aid orientation and way finding. Designed to the DSDC’s Gold Standard, our design is transforming the lives of residents living with dementia.
At the forefront of innovative and sustainable Dementia Design, Quattro’s Care Home Architects design homes providing a high level of support within bespoke and small scale settings as well as in larger Extra Care schemes, allowing residents to remain independent for longer, promoting wellbeing and our philosophy of “homes for life”.
