The Challenge
After being successfully selected, alongside contractor’s Beard, Quattro applied our BIM expertise to inform the construction stage of a new rugby & sports ground for Dings Crusaders RFC – one of Bristol’s oldest rugby clubs.
The proposal was for a covered stand that could accommodate 200 spectators, a new clubhouse featuring a club room, two-court sports hall, weight training room, changing rooms, and a club shop; alongside a full- size all-weather floodlit pitch, full-size grass pitch, floodlit training pitch and three junior pitches.
Our Solution
The results of our Architectural Consultancy confirmed that the clubs’ former facilities at Lockleaze Recreation Ground were deemed unsuitable and beyond repair, and a new stadia and ground were sought for by the club.
The new ground will provide new opportunities for the club to use the facilities on non-match days. The commercial building design offers large open plan function rooms flooded with natural light, opening out onto a precast concrete seating terrace on the first floor enabling the club to host conferences, exhibitions and events which will provide alternative and valuable commercial opportunities, alongside the traditional hospitality and match day experiences.
