Building Information Modelling (BIM)
What is BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the 3D Digital Management and Process used in Architecture, Engineering and Construction that allows for efficiency in Planning, Design, Construction and Management.
The essence of BIM allows for the flow of data between the Design Team and Client through the stages of a project from inception to the whole life cycle of a building.
Our talented and experienced Architects and Technicians create high quality, data relevant and detailed models to assist in the Communication of Design, Delivery of Construction Information, and Transfer of in-use Building Data.
At Quattro we invest in both our IT and our People. Our Team have embraced the essence of BIM into a fully collaborative process, reaching a meaningful BIM Maturity Level 2 and maintaining the discipline across all our sectors.
This allows us to meet the UK Government’s requirements of the Digital Built Britain 2020 mandate. Our early adoption of BIM has led to substantial experience over the years; Quattro Design Architects are now a leading practice in Building Information Modelling.

What are the Benefits of BIM?
The benefits of early integration in a project and close coordination with all Project Team members is essential.
From a client perspective; this can be in-valuable when enquiring on design development. A 3D model is always to hand with 3D walkthroughs and every aspect of construction easily displayed.
Automatic schedules will update every material quantities and total m2 calculations.
To summarise:
BIM processes allow us to PLAN / DESIGN / BUILD / OPERATE better buildings in a more collaborative manner
- PLAN – The BIM tools allow us to create and visualise exceptional buildings that meet full client expectations and beyond
- DESIGN – The design process is improved with a fully collaborative BIM Team allowing for greater cost certainty and cost reduction
- BUILD – Fully integrated models allow for improved coordination and clash detection, minimising site risks and raising building quality. Scheduling and sequencing from the model will lead to increased productivity and safer sites
- OPERATE – End users and building operators will be empowered with the necessary digital record allowing them to seamlessly manage and maintain their building through its full life and beyond
