The collaborative approach taken by the team enabled the unit to progress at a rapid pace. Our design met the brief and Planning was successfully secured.
The Challenge
Quattro’s leading hospital architects were set the challenge to deliver a new GP Assessment Unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as quickly as possible given the current pressures within the NHS and Healthcare environment.
Our brief was for the new unit to provide a 10-bed ward, rapid diagnostic tests, medical assessment and GP-led clinical support, including therapy, nursing and treatment. In addition to this, the facility provision should also include administrative accommodation for the staff (consultants, admin staff and support staff).
Our Solution
The collaborative approach taken by the team enabled the unit to progress at a rapid pace. Our design met the brief and Planning was successfully secured.
Works were completed in November 2021, with the Covid-19 pandemic not able to prevent our team from delivering the project to programme. The on site works were completed by Speller Metcalfe, a leading regional contractor with expertise in delivering Healthcare projects. Quattro’s team of specialist Healthcare Design consultants were on hand from beginning to end .
The design of the new unit will play an important part in improving the care experience for a broad cohort of patients, providing a more appropriate environment for continued assessment and a timely discharge.
The Courtyard is a great demonstration of Quattro’s Healthcare Architect’s ability to work collaboratively and deliver specialist Hospital Architecture Design and Planning Services within a tight timeframe and to budget.
