Modular Operating Theatre

Our dedicated team of architects, designers and technicians were able to successfully install and commission the hospital’s first orthopaedic theatre. We were appointed due to our experience in operating theatre design.

Through close collaborative working with both the hospital’s Project Manager and Theatre Leads , together with the hospital’s RPA, Quattro’s Hospital Architects were able to successfully install and commission the hospital’s first orthopaedic theatre.

The Challenge

Quattro’s healthcare architects were appointed to lead a specialist Healthcare Design Team of QS, Engineer and Services Engineer in designing and delivering a new Modular Operating Theatre with groundworks and infrastructure works at Hereford County Hospital. We were appointed due to our experience in operating theatre design.

Our Solution

Through close collaborative working with both the hospital’s Project Manager and Theatre Leads , together with the hospital’s RPA, Quattro’s Hospital Architects were able to successfully install and commission the hospital’s first orthopaedic theatre.

In the design of this state-of-the-art operating theatre, Quattro implemented an extension to the main hospital to allow modular specialist units to be ‘plugged in’.

Additional consultation with Vanguard Healthcare ensured the modular solution was exactly to the Trust’s requirement, including laminar airflow in the theatre.

This project highlights Quattro’s collaborative approach to design. By collaborating with our client, other industry experts and stakeholders, we were able to design a state-of-the-art operating theatre for Hereford County Hospital.
