The Challenge
Quattro’s Healthcare Architects were the top choice for a high quality conversion and sensitive modern extension to a large Grade II listed Georgian house, set in mature grounds occupying a prominent location in Cheltenham. Our clinical screening architects collaborated with both our client as well as other stakeholders to design this state-of-the-art space for the NHS.
Our Solution
Quattro worked closely and diligently with the clients, the Cobalt Appeal Fund Trust and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to meet the exacting requirements for a clinic that provides essential countywide screening services for nearly 30,000 people per year.
As a result, the design successfully reflects the user’s aspirations and requirements. Close consultation was also carried out with the Planning and Conservation Officers in the Cheltenham Planning Department to agree the details and ensure sympathetic materials were selected for the building, extension, and landscaping in its sensitive setting.
The state-of-the-art centre combines breast cancer screening and symptomatic services using the latest digital imaging technology, ensuring accurate diagnostics and improved patient outcomes. The facility’s design also prioritises patient comfort and accessibility, enhancing the overall experience for those receiving care.
