The Challenge
Churchill Academy was a casualty towards the end of the Building Schools for the Future Programme, earmarked for new school facilities just as the initiative was scrapped following a change in Government.
Conscious that the opportunity for a complete new build was lost, Quattro’s education architects were selected by the Academy to create a strategic Masterplan for the school that could be implemented through phased funding.
Our Solution
Working with a core group of governors, staff and students, a strategic plan was developed by Quattro which has been used by the Academy to inform development decisions and identify projects for funding opportunities over a number of years.
During that time Churchill Academy has been successful in securing over £8 million of CIF funding for 4 separate projects from the Education and Skills Funding Agency with Quattro playing a key role in project design and delivery. Crucially, Quattro provided specialist assistance towards the content, process and submission of the CIF bid itself
Projects have included:
- The creation of a £1.4M new build Information Technology department.
- Creation of new £4.5M, 16 classroom Science and Technology facilities.
- Refurbishment of Humanities 14 Classroom block. £1.2M.
- Safeguarding, landscaping and Academy reception and admin facilities.
